About Vector Praxis President Julian Bowron

Julian Bowron’s encyclopedic knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and sources is based on 30 years experience as the owner of a well-known high-end architectural fabrication firm. This experience includes work as a skilled craftsman, designer, architectural detailer, director of the parametric modeling team and project leader on both union and non-union construction jobsites from Macau to Saudi Arabia and from New York to Vancouver. As a result, Mr. Bowron has developed an intuitive grasp of BIM processes, construction issues and the resulting critical path. 

Recent projects (2006 – 2013) which Mr. Bowron directed include:

  • Erection planning for a supertall 180-storey building
  • 100 AAA-class building modules and 480 flights of handrail / guardrail for a signature tower project, including design and patenting of product details and production systems together with the design, setup and commisioning of a 50,000 square foot plant
  • Realist and modern sculpture in locations from NYC to the UAE, including an 80-tonne free-form structure which dominates the 14-story atrium of a flagship luxury hotel
  • Development of two unique systems for the detailing, fabrication and erection of modular buildings
  • Interior and exterior cladding, lobby and elevator surrounds, storefronts, doors and windows across North America
  • Spectaculars, theming, exhibits, signage and water features
  • Store fixtures and office furniture
  • Complex large scale feature stairs in the 5th avenue global flagship of a major fashion retailer and the HQ of one the world's top business news providers
  • Lighting, including feature luminaires, in the lobbies and exterior spaces of banks, etc.
  • Equipment used in a variety of industries including prefabrication, defence, security and entertainment

Pre-2005 experience includes the production of numerous broadcast sets, Canada’s largest theming contract, high-end millwork for banks and public buildings and many award-winning exhibits. Early experiences include a year as the ship’s carpenter on a full-size tall ship, fabrication of commercial loudspeakers and ownership of a millwork firm which produced early designs of computer furniture.
